These days every one of us is using smartphones and everyone will be having the Gmail account that we will be linked to the smartphones. And these google accounts are very useful in our daily life. You will backup a lot of files in the google like contacts, work files, images etc.  And we will back up many files into the Google accounts so that whenever we want we will restore them when we lose the files, unfortunately.

One of the important files are the contacts and think that somehow you lose them while the smartphones get damaged or when it is stolen or when you try to reset the phone. So it is better to backup our contacts in the smartphone to the google account because when the above things happened you will lose all your important contacts of loved ones and some contacts related to your designation which will be critical information for you.

How to Backup Android Contacts to Gmail 

Step 1: First step is, head on to "Settings" on your Android smartphone.

Step 2: Find the "Account" and click on it.

Step 3: Now, you are going to see all the Gmail accounts that you have signed-in on your Android. Tap on Gmail account, where you want to store your contacts.

Step 4: Select the "Contact" as shown in the image below.

And all your contacts will be synced and will be saved to your Gmail account and you can retrieve them whenever you want and on any device.

How to View the Contacts Saved in Gmail Account

You can view the saved contacts in the Google accounts by following these simple steps.

Step 1: Open the "Contacts" list on your Android phone.

Step 2: Select the menu option among them, select the “contacts to display”.

Step 3: Select the Google account that you have saved the contacts.

Step 4: The list of saved contacts in the Google account will be displayed.

How to Backup Contacts to SD Card

You can also backup the contacts in sd card too. It is better to have a backup in sd card too because when you are in the situation where you cannot connect to the network but you have lost all your contacts due to the trouble occurred to the phone at that time this is useful. To copy contacts from the phone to the sd card is also a very simple technique.

Follow this technique to copy contacts from the phone to sd card.

Step 1: Open the "Contacts" on your Android smartphone.

Step 2: You will find a menu button (it will be like 3 dots or lines ) tap on it and you will find some options in the menu.

Step 3: Among them select the option called “import/export”.

Step 4: Now tap on "Export to Storage".

Step 5: And all the contacts will be exported to the sd card as a file with the extension .vcf.

To copy the contacts in the sd card to the phone. Its very simple finds the .vcf file in the sd card and just tap on that file and all the contacts in the sd card will be copied to the phone. 

Try backup the contacts by using these two ways and use them according to the situation.
